CIO Symposium at ICIS 2019 in Munich Tuesday, December 17th

The world continues to experience profound change.  Much of this transformation is driven and enabled by emerging information technologies and the impact that these technologies are having on the business.  Many consider that every organization in every industry is becoming an IT company.  Understanding the opportunities and challenges inherent in leveraging emerging technologies is more essential than ever.  The need for academia to understand (teach and research) these changes from the perspective of leading IT practitioners is fundamental.

To provide ICIS participants with the opportunity to get insights on these challenges and opportunities directly from prominent IT practitioners from large companies, the ICIS 2019 in Munich Conference Committee has decided to offer a Chief Information Officer Symposium. It will take place on Tuesday, December 17th. All ICIS participants are invited to attend. The program agenda is below. Walter Brenner from University of St. Gallen and Jerry Luftman from the Global Institute for IT Management have invited Chief Information Officers from leading corporations in Germany and Switzerland, and will facilitate this essential discussion. The speakers will focus on the emerging business and technology trends, challenges, and opportunities in industry.

The Chief Information Officer Symposium at ICIS 2019 provides academics with a unique opportunity to get insights directly from these IT Executives, to prepare their students for the challenges and opportunities necessary to succeed in today’s dynamic environment.  This day is also a great way for academics to evaluate the practical implications of their research by engaging with these leaders. We invite all ICIS participants to join this important Chief Information Officer Symposium.
